Alexander III Monument

The monument to Alexander III is located on Gagarin Boulevard in Irkutsk, on the banks of the Angara River. It was restored and solemnly opened in 2003 after being demolished by Bolsheviks in 1920. The original version of the monument was installed in 1908 following a nationwide competition. In 1963, a memorial to explorers was placed on its pedestal.
