V.P. Sukachev Mansion-Museum
Иркутск, ул. Декабрьских Событий, 112
V.P. Sukachev's Estate in Irkutsk is located at December Events Street, 112. It is a wooden XIX-century house with unique architecture: tower annex, rich carving, white cornices and lace window frames give it the look of a fairy-tale palace. The exhibition includes antique furniture, porcelain sets, books, piano and owner's personal letters. The estate is also known for its preserved Winter Garden and serves as a branch of Irkutsk Art Museum. Vladimir Sukachev, city head of Irkutsk, was a well-known collector who founded an art gallery that became the basis of local art museum.
