EternalFlameMemorial

Иркутск, ул. Польских Повстанцев

Eternal Flame Memorial in Irkutsk is located on Polish Insurgents Street near the regional government building. It was opened on May 9, 1975 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of victory over fascism. The complex honors the memory of Siberian warriors who died fighting against Nazi German invaders. Annual solemn events are held here on Victory Day. The eternal flame burns from a torch brought from Moscow after visiting the Unknown Soldier's grave. The project architect was V. Fedorin and the artistic design was created by V. Smagin.
