Kazan Church

The Kazan Church is situated at Barrikad Street, 34/1 in Irkutsk. The temple is known for having artillery pieces positioned nearby in December 1917. Its interior spaces have been repeatedly damaged by fires affecting the walls and interiors. Later, the building was utilized for industrial purposes where new structures were introduced. The right annex is dedicated to Saint Nikolay the Wonderworker. After being closed, the church was used as storage facilities and classrooms. A project to convert it into a cinema was considered in the 1940s. Iconostases are made from pine wood.
