Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after N.N. Muravyov-Amursky is situated in a historic building in Moorish style at Karl Marx Street, 2 in Irkutsk. Established in 1782, it is among the oldest museums in Russia. Its holdings encompass more than 400,000 artifacts, including distinctive collections related to archaeology, paleontology, geology of Transbaikalia, and materials concerning the settlement of Siberia by Russian explorers. The museum provides educational programs and talks on local history and operates daily from Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
