Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after N.N. Muraviev-Apostol

Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after N.N. Muravьев-Aмурский located in historical building in Moorish style at Karl Marx Street, 2 in Irkutsk. Founded in 1782, it is one of the oldest museums in Russia. Its collections include over 400,000 exhibits, including unique collections on archaeology, paleontology, geology of Transbaikalia and materials about the exploration of Siberia by Russian pioneers. The museum offers educational programs and lectures on local lore and operates daily from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
