Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore Named after N.N. Muravyov-Amursky

Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after N.N. Muravyov-Amursky is situated on Karl Marx Street in Irkutsk. Established in 1782, it is among Russia's oldest museums. Its collections include over 400,000 items such as archaeological, paleontological and geological exhibits from Transbaikalia, along with materials about the exploration of Siberia by Russian pioneers. The museum building is designed in Moorish style resembling a castle. Visitors can view exhibitions, participate in educational programs and lectures on local lore. It operates daily from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
