Irkutsk Academic Drama Theatre named after N.P. Okhlopkov

Irkutsk Academic Drama Theatre named after N.P. Okhlopkov — one of the oldest theaters in Siberia founded in 1850. Located at 14 Karl Marx St., Irkutsk. The theater bears the name of outstanding Irkutsk director Nikolay Pavlovich Okhlopkov. Architectural building constructed in 1897 is a federal monument designed by chief architect of Imperial theaters Schroetter. Regularly staged both classical plays ("Hamlet", "Uncle Vanya") and contemporary productions. Theater's history features performances by top Russian theatrical troupes.
