Irkutsk Synagogue

Irkutsk Synagogue is situated on Karl Liebknecht Street, 23. It is an historical and cultural monument from the late 19th century, damaged by fire in 2004. After being returned to the community in 1990, it hosts prayers, Jewish holidays, cultural events and educational programs. The synagogue was an important spiritual center for the Jewish community of Irkutsk and Transbaikalia, featuring a two-story wing and a single-storey prayer hall. Beneath its roof operated charitable and enlightening organizations.
