Gagarin Boulevard

Gagarin Boulevard in Irkutsk runs along the right bank of River Angara. Previously, there were residences of city mayors and governors-general of Eastern Siberia here. The Olympic torch relay passed through this boulevard in 2013. Monuments to Alexander III and a bust of Yuri Gagarin have been installed on the premises. The riverside area was formed at the end of the 17th century as the western part of Irkutsk settlement.
