White House

The White House in Irkutsk is situated on Gagarin Boulevard, 24. It is a federal cultural heritage site where discussions about research on Amur Region took place. The architectural project was associated with Giacomo Quarenghi. Official receptions and meetings of authorities were held here. In 1918, the building became the workplace for Irkutsk State University. After early 20th century reconstruction, facades got their white color. Explorer Gennady Nevelsky also visited this place.
