Bestuzhev-Marlinsky Museum House

Alexander Bestuzhev-Marlinsky's House-Museum is located in Derbent at 7 Magal Street, 23. This two-story building of the XIX century was where the writer-decabulist lived during his exile to the Caucasus. The museum has four rooms reflecting the Derbent period of his life and work. Here are recreated interiors of a residential space from that time with authentic household items. The building previously belonged to private owners but was acquired by the city's краеведческий museum in 1941. The museum shows the connection between Russian literature and the Caucasus and emphasizes the importance of Derbent in the biography and work of the decabulist.
