Bestuzhev-Marlinsky Museum House

Alexander Bestuzhev-Marlinsky House-Museum is situated in Derbent at 7 Magal Street, 23. This 19th-century two-storey building was where the writer-decabulist resided during his exile to the Caucasus. The museum comprises four rooms showcasing the Derbent phase of his life and career. It features reconstructed interiors of a dwelling from that era with genuine household artifacts. Previously owned privately, it was purchased by the city's historical museum in 1941. The museum highlights the link between Russian literature and the Caucasus while underscoring the significance of Derbent in the decabulist's biography and works.
