Metallurg Monument

The "Metallurg" Monument in Magnitogorsk is situated on the Pervokazalnaya Square. A sculpture about 5 meters tall stands on a granite pedestal measuring 6 meters. Originally, the monument was located near the entrance to the metallurgical plant; it was later exhibited abroad and in Moscow. In 1967, it was moved to the city to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the USSR and placed on its current site. Today, it greets tourists arriving at the railway station.
