Pyotr I Monument

In Arkhangelsk, on the banks of Northern Dvina, there is a monument to Pyotr I installed in 1914. It is a reduced copy of Mark Antokolsky's sculpture, made from bronze and cast in France in 1909. The pedestal is made of gray granite. Pyotr I is depicted during the Poltav battle. The monument has federal significance and its image appears on Russian banknotes worth 500 rubles.
