Arkhangelsk Drama Theatre named after M.V. Lomonosov is located in Arkhangelsk's Pyotrovsky Park. The building was constructed from 1929 to 1931. In 1961, the theatre was named after the great Russian scientist Mikhail Vasilievich Lomonosov. The first performance by the permanent theatrical troupe took place in 1932 and was based on Maxim Gorky's play "On the Bottom".
