Arkhangelsk Regional Museum

Arkhangelsk Regional Museum of Local Lore is situated on the banks of Northern Dvina River. It introduces visitors to the history of the Russian North, regional natural wealth and Arctic exploration. Among exhibits are monuments from the 12th to 18th centuries, archaeological finds, materials related to northern research, items made with Kholmogorskaya bone carving and folk woodcarving. The museum operates within the historical complex "Guest Courtyards" and is considered one of the oldest in the country.
