Vitebsk Uspenskiy Cathedral

Uspensky Cathedral in Vitebsk stands on Uspenskaya Hill at Krylova Street, 9. Founded between 1743-1777, transferred to Orthodox Church since 1799. Destroyed in 1936; restoration led by Patriarch Alexius II began in 1998. Dedication took place in September 2011. Today it serves as the cathedral church of Vitebsk eparchy. First mention of the temple dates back to 1406.
