Victory Square Vitebsk

Victory Square in Vitebsk is situated in the historical center of the city. Its overall layout was designed by architects A. Danilova, Z. Dovgalyo and R. Knyazhish with engineer L. Eyngorn's involvement. The square has a length of approximately 380 meters and occupies an area about 7.22 hectares. The central element is the memorial complex "Three Bayonets". Previously known as Orsha Square and Chernyakhovsky Square, it opened to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Vitebsk region and the 1000th anniversary of the city's founding. The space is adorned with green plantings, fountains, groups of shrubs and small trees.
