Alexander Nevsky Monument and Family

On the Millennium Square of Vitebsk there stands a monument to Alexander Nevsky and his family. The composition depicts the prince holding his son Vasiliy on his lap and his wife. Also nearby is portrayed the city princess Alexandra included in the scene. The monument is part of the ensemble of the square including the Church of the Annunciation and symbolizes the meeting of Prince Alexander Nevsky with his family in Vitebsk in 1245.
