Yakub Kolasa National Academic Drama Theatre

The National Academic Drama Theatre named after Yakub Kolas is situated in Vitebsk on Zamkovaya Street, 2. Founded in 1926 under the title Second Belarusian State Theatre and since then has become the main theatrical ensemble of the region. In 1958 the theatre moved to its current building specially constructed for it. Since 1944 it bears the name of the people's poet of Belarus Yakub Kolas, and in 2001 it acquired the status of national.
