Memorial Museum M. F. Shmyryov

The Memorial Museum of M.F. Shmyryov is situated in Vitebsk on Chekhov Street, 4. It is dedicated to Hero of the Soviet Union Minay Filippovich Shmyryov and tells about partisan movement in the region during World War II. The museum preserves documents and materials reflecting resistance against Nazi occupation. A park in front of the museum features an oak alley planted by former partisans. The institution was founded in 1966 and is part of the Vitebsk museums system.
