Vitebsk Governor's Palace

Governor's Palace is situated in the historical center of Vitebsk. Originally it belonged to the Kudinoviches family and was built in 1772. Since 1806 it has been used as the governor's residence. Here Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich passed away in 1831. In 1839 the palace was visited by Tsarevich Alexander Nicholaevich, who later became Emperor Alexander II. The building served as the residence for general governors and governors of the Vitebsk province.
