VGU Botanical Garden

VGU Botanical Garden is situated in Vitebsk on Uritskogo Street, 3. It occupies an area near the valley of river Vit'by and the natural relief of the city center. Established as a private park, later transformed into an educational department of the university after the status change of the pedagogical institute in 1995. The garden serves for scientific activities, student training and nature conservation. In 1919, an instructional-demonstration garden was created on the slopes of the right bank of Vit'by.
