Anhor Canal

Anhor Canal - historical city waterway in central part of Tashkent. It flows along Bunyodkor Avenue, circumventing traffic interchange with ring road, then goes beyond urban limits. Nearby the canal there is a residence of former Turkestan governors built by architect A.A. Benois. Also situated here is Sheikhantur Hydroelectric Station and mentioned ancient fortress Urda erected during annexation of Tashkent to Kokand Khanate. The canal is dedicated in a poem by Uzbek poetess Yulduz Mukhhtarova.
