Amir Temur Monument in Samarkand

The Amir Timur Monument is situated in the center of Samarkand on his namesake square. It symbolizes the era of Timurid capital and is an important part of the city's historical route. The monument created after Uzbekistan's independence was achieved immortalizes the ruler under whose reign Samarkand flourished. On the pedestal of the monument is inscribed Sahibqiran, one of Timur's titles.
