Ulugh Beg Observatory Museum

Ulugh Beg Observatory Museum in Samarkand is dedicated to the prominent scientist of the 15th century Mirzo Ulugh Beg and his contributions to astronomy. Established in 1964, the site was landscaped to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the scholar in 1994. It features an exhibition explaining the workings of the ancient meridian and the history of the Samarkand astronomical school.
