Sher-Dor Madrasa

Sher-Dor Medressa is situated on the eastern side of Registan Square in Samarkand. Built between 1619 and 1636, it mimics the neighboring Ulugh Beg Medressa. The building surrounds a courtyard with two-tiered hujras for students. Decoration features mosaic, majolica and glazed ceramics. The name "Sher-Dor" means "having lions". The portal is adorned with twin minarets, its facade decorated with rare Islamic architecture figures.
