Rukh Abbad Mausoleum

Rukhabaad Mausoleum situated in Samarkand's center was built in the 14th century. It bears the name of Sufi sheikh Burhaneddin Sagardji and is called "Abode of Spirit". The architecture is simple: a cubic base smoothly transitions to an octagon under a dome. Outer walls almost lack decorative ceramics; facade is symmetrical with no main entrance. This is an early example of strict Central Asian mausoleum.
