Islom Karimov Mausoleum

The Mausoleum of Islam Karimov is located in Samarkand near Hazrat-Hizr Mosque. Opened to visitors in 2018 and dedicated to Uzbekistan's first president. The architecture of the mausoleum reflects Uzbek memorial culture, combining stone, majolica and calligraphic ornamentation. The entrance plaque features a commemorative inscription in Uzbek and English languages.
