Gur-Emir

Gur Emir - majestic mausoleum situated in Samarkand. It is the tomb of Amir Timur and members of the Timurid dynasty. The building features characteristic ribbed blue dome and luxurious interior decorations. The name of the structure means "emir's tomb". Gur Emir had significant influence on architecture of subsequent Muslim mausoleums including Indian structures from the era of Great Mughals.
