Juma Mosque (Khiva)
Хива, Ичан-Кала
Juma Mosque in Khiva stands out for its lack of traditional architectural elements such as portals, domes and an inner courtyard. Its distinctive feature is numerous wooden columns with intricate carvings that create a unique interior. Some of these columns date back to ancient structures of Khorezm and support the ceiling of the prayer hall consisting of 213 pillars, making it one of the most recognizable mosques in the city.
