Ak-Saray Portal

The Ak-Saray Portal in Shahrisabz is one of the key architectural monuments of Timur's era. It is a massive arch that was once an entrance portal to one of the largest palaces of medieval Central Asia. Today, only two powerful piers with fragments of bright tiled decoration remain, recalling the former grandeur of the ruler's residence. The architecture and decorative elements of the portal highlight its solemn and official character.
