State Museum of History and Culture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan

The State Museum of History and Culture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is located in Nukus on S. Kamalova Street. Founded in 1929, it is one of the oldest museums in Central Asia and an important cultural center of the region. The collections include exhibits on natural environment, archaeological finds, ethnic culture, and contemporary history of Karakalpakstan, helping to understand the historical context of the Aral Sea basin and Khorezm.
