Ulugh Beg Madrasah (Bukhara)

Ulugh Beg Madrasah is situated in the historical center of Bukhara, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building belongs to the Timurid period and forms an architectural ensemble together with Abdalaziz Khan Madrasah. It was constructed upon the order of Mirzo Ulugh Beg in 1417 and named after him — a famous Timurid ruler and astronomer. A sign on the gates reminds Muslims about the obligation to seek knowledge.
