Kalon Minaret Mosque
Bukhara, Hodja Kalon St, near Hodza Gaukushan ensemble
The Khodja Kalon Mosque is situated in the center of Bukhara near the ensemble of Khodja Gaukuchan. Built in 1598, it is among the largest Sunni mosques of the city after Po-i-Kalyan. Its architecture reflects the features of Bukharan school during the period of Shaybanids. Adjacent stands the Gaukuchan Minaret, while nearby are Hatam Khind Medressa and Olmijon Caravanserai.
