Mausoleum of Buiyon Kulikhon

The Mausoleum of Buyan-Kuli Khan, dating back to approximately 1358, is located in Fathabad to the east of medieval Bukhara. This architectural monument of the Chagatai Khanate has a rectangular external plan measuring about 11.2 × 9.9 meters. Inside, fragments of blue terracotta tiles have been preserved on the walls, pendentives, and dome, while the portal is decorated with a calligraphic band against a background of vegetal motifs. Part of the decoration, including 71 fragments of glazed tiles, is kept in the Museum of Art and Crafts in Hamburg.
