Nogai Caravanserai

The Nogai Caravanserai in Bukhara was built in 1720–1721 on the site of the burnt-down Sokhta caravanserai and adjoins the western facade of the Toki Sarrofon trading dome. After the Gazli earthquakes of 1976–1977, the second floor of the building was demolished, and the preserved premises of the first floor are used as craft workshops, souvenir shops, and offices, where merchants are also located. The object, whose income and expenses are evidenced by preserved waqf documents, is included in the national list of tangible cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and is protected by the state.
