Bukhara Zindan

The Bukharian Zindan is situated in the historical center of Bukhara, protected by UNESCO. It was an emir's prison built in the late 18th century by the Mangit dynasty. Today it houses an exhibition on the history of Bukharan emirate judiciary and a museum with exhibits of soldiers' weapons. The complex is located near the ancient shahristan, close to Ark citadel. After the revolution, the prison was closed down.
