Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve (Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery)

Yaroslavl Museum-Preserve is situated on the grounds of the former Spaso-Preobrazhensky Male Monastery, which has become part of the city's historical center protected by UNESCO since 2005. It features exhibits dedicated to the region's history and the unique monument of ancient Russian literature - "The Tale of Igor's Campaign." The museum's collection exceeds 350,000 items including icons, manuscripts, valuable fabrics and church vessels. The idea for establishing the first museum was proposed by Professor Andrey Pyotrovsky.
