Volga Arsenal Tower
Ярославль, Волжская наб., 2а
Volzhskaya (Arsennaya) Tower — a brick fortress built in 1658-1669 after a major fire in Yaroslavl. It is the only surviving tower of the Pillared City of the 17th century and served as the main entrance to the fortified part of the city from the Volga side. After the fire of 1831 it passed under military administration and received its current name. Today, the tower has been transformed into a public space and remains an important monument of Russian fortification.
