Church of the Savior on the City Walls

The Church of Saviour on Gorod Island in Yaroslavl is situated on Pochtovoy Street. It is an architectural monument from the late-17th century, distinguished by its expressive brick facade decorations. After restoration of the dome and spire in 1925-1926, the church regained its historical appearance. In 2003, the church was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. Its name is associated with its location near the boundary of the ancient Timbered Town.
