Nicola Nadain Church

Nikola Nadein Church - a brick church built in 1620-1621 on donations from merchant Ephraim Sveteshnikov. Known for the painting by master Lubim Agaev depicting the life of Saint Nikolay. Inside there remains a carved canopy from 1776. This is the first town church of Yaroslavl, which became a prototype for many subsequent city temples. The temple is considered a symbol of Yaroslavl's struggle against Polish-Lithuanian troops during the Time of Troubles.
