Nikola Nadeina Church

Nikola Nadeina Church — brick church built in 1620-1621 on donations from merchant Epifaniy Sveteshnikov. It is the first town church of Yaroslavl, which initiated famous Yaroslav churches of the 17th century. The name relates to the nickname of its commissioner — Nadeya. The temple became a prototype for subsequent constructions and a symbol of memory about events of the Time of Troubles, emphasizing the importance of Yaroslavl in the struggle against Polish-Lithuanian troops.
