Ilya Prophet Church

Ilya Prophet Church in Yaroslavl, situated on Sovetskaya Square, is an architectural monument from the 17th century. Built between 1647-1650 with donations from merchants Skripin brothers, it has retained its original interior decorations. Paintings created by artel masters led by Guria Nikitin and Sila Savin in 1680 enhance the building's significance. UNESCO recognizes the church as an important urban dominating feature. Today, the temple serves as a symbol of Yaroslavl and belongs to the local museum.
