Church of the Baptism of Christ

The Church of the Baptism of Christ in Yaroslavl, built from 1684 to 1693, stands out for its bright multicolored enamel tiles, which have become a symbol of the city. Inside the temple there are preserved paintings with 320 images and ancient frescoes. The iconostasis and interiors date back to the late 17th century. The architectural ensemble includes a tented bell tower in the northwestern corner of the gallery. UNESCO recognizes the church as one of the significant monuments of the historical center of Yaroslavl.
