Tolga Convent
Ярославль, пос. Толга, 1, Толгский монастырь
The Tolga Convent is located in the village of Tolga near Yaroslavl. It was founded in 1314 by Bishop Prohor of Rostov at the site where the miraculous Tolga Icon of the Mother of God appeared. After a long period of inactivity, the convent reopened in 1987 as a women's one. Within its walls there is an ancient park with Siberian cedar trees planted in the 16th century. Today, the monastic ensemble has been restored and entrusted to believers.
