Kazan Cathedral

Catholic Church of Kazan Icon of Mother of God in Yaroslavl is situated on Pervomayskaya street. Built between 1835 and 1845, it replaced an earlier brick church from 1649. Completed with five domes, the temple was constructed in late classicism style. Since 1997 regular services have been held there, and since 1999 the cathedral has been transferred to the Yaroslavl diocese. Here the venerated Kazan-Yaroslavl Icon of Mother of God is kept. Previously the building was used by the regional archive after its closure in 1918.
