Fedor Volkov Russian Academic Drama Theatre

The Russian State Academic Drama Theatre named after Федор Volkov is located in Yaroslavl on Volkov Square. It was founded in 1750 as Russia's first publicly accessible professional theater. The building of the modern theater was constructed in 1911 by architect Nikolay Spinn. There are two stages at the theater: historical with 700 seats and intimate with 100 seats. Annually, significant cultural events take place here including the Volkov International Festival and the festival "Future of Theater in Russia."
