Yaroslavl City History Museum

The Museum of the History of Yaroslavl is housed in an historical building on Volga Embankment. Its main exhibition "Ten Centuries in the History of Yaroslavl" covers the evolution of the city from its founding to present day. The interiors retain the atmosphere of a merchant mansion from late 19th century, featuring aisles of rooms, staircases and grand halls with stucco work. The museum has six rooms showcasing models, maps, archaeological finds and materials about urban planning in Yaroslavl. The museum opened in 1985.
