Korovniki Temple Complex
Yaroslavl, Portovaya Emb, 2
The temple complex in Korovniki is situated on the Volga Riverbank in the historical district of Yaroslavl Sloboda. The central element of the ensemble is the Church of John the Golden-Mouthed with a unique tiled facade. Adjacent to it is a tent-shaped bell tower known as "Yaroslavskaya Swear." The composition concludes with an enclosure featuring Holy Gates leading to the river. The complex represents a bright example of Yaroslavl architecture from the 17th century, created by various masters who maintained a unified style.
