Афанасьевский мужской монастырь

The Афанасьевский men's monastery is located in Yaroslavl on Chyeluskintsev Square. It was founded in the 16th century and re-established in 1613. In 2005, the churches returned to the Russian Orthodox Church after being closed since 1925 when a furniture factory operated there. The monastery houses the famous Icon of Our Lady's Sign, revered for its miraculous powers.
