Metropolitan Garden is located in Rostov Veliky, being part of the archiepiscopal residence of Rostov Kremlin. The garden has a cross shape and typical plant composition of the late 17th century. In its northern part there are traces of an ancient monastic building revealed by archaeological excavations. The reconstruction of the garden was carried out at the end of the 1990s according to the project of architect A.G. Melnik. It was founded by Metropolitan Ioann at the end of the 17th century during the completion of the formation of the architectural ensemble of the Kremlin.
