Переславль-Залесский, ул. Луговая, 17

St. Trinity Danilov Monastery is located in Pereslavl-Zalessky on Lugovaya Street. Founded in 1508 by monk Daniel, confessor of Grand Prince Vasilii III. Built between 1530-1532, the Trinity Cathedral commemorates the birth of Vasilii III's heir, future Ivan the Terrible. The cathedral was painted by an artel of Kostroma iconographer Gury Nikitin in the second half of the 17th century. After being closed in 1923, it was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1995 and monastic life was revived. Here lived disciple of Daniel, Saint Gerasim Boldinsky.
